• After autoclaving, let the scan posts cool to room temperature
The product is delivered non-sterile and should be
cleaned and sterilized prior to every use.
WARNING
Replace the Scan Post if any damage, i.e., scratches,
deformation, excessive wear, etc., is determined.
WARNING
The sterile barrier must be maintained until use!
CAUTION
If still hot, skin contact may cause discomfort to the
patient. The scan post must not be warmer than
body temperature during used.
STEP 3: POSITIONING AND SCANNING
• Insert the impression post into the patient’s prepared root
canal(s) and confirm that satisfactory fit and seating is obtained.
• Confirm that the appropriate length of the scan post has been
chosen and that the scan post is included in the digital library. If
required, follow the scanners instructions for use to download
the appropriate library. The “head” of the post (the cylindrical
body) may not be in contact with teeth or other scan posts as
this can cause bending.
• Scan the intraoral situation following the scanner’s instructions
for use. Make sure the head of the posts scanned fully and
without holes, both top and sides.
WARNING
To avoid aspiration or swallowing of the Scan Post
during intra-oral scanning, ensure that the scan
post has secure fit and is seated correctly. In case
of uncertainty, it is recommended to do an x-ray
confirmation of seating and fit.
WARNING
To avoid aspiration or swallowing extreme caution
should be exercised when using pressurized air in
the oral cavity.
WARNING
Use dental suction to collect blood and saliva during
dental procedures.
Congratulations on your new CMT product.
INTENDED USE, INDICATION FOR USE, AND
CONTRA-INDICATIONS
5.1.1 INTENDED USE
The CMT Scan Posts are geometry indicators required for

are placed in the patients’ root canal(s). For model and impression
scanning, the scan posts are placed into those, in holes created by
impression posts.
5.1.2 INDICATION FOR USE
The CMT Scan Posts are indicated for:
• Dental Prosthetic Restorations
• Endodontic Treatments
5.1.3 INTENDED USER PROFILE
The CMT Scan Post is operated by trained dental professionals
and qualified personnel.
5.1.4 INTENDED PATIENT PROFILE
Patients with the need for endodontic and prosthetic treatment
with no restrictions to patient population.

IN PATIENT USE – STEP BY STEP
STEP 1: PRESELECTION OF THE SCAN POST
• Select the appropriate variant and length of the scan post.
• Ensure that variant matches the used Post & Core drill system
and size.
• Ensure that length is appropriate, the “head” of the post (the
cylindrical body) should not be in contact with teeth or other
scan posts when mounted as this can cause bending and/or
deformation.
STEP 2: PREPARATION FOR INTRA-ORAL USE
Preparation for use
To avoid cross contamination between patients or contamination
of operators, the scan posts must be cleaned and sterilized prior
to each use.
Cleaning procedure
• Clean the posts by rinsing with clean, preferably purified, water
until gross soil is removed.
• Fully immerse in a non-enzymatic neutral pH detergent, e.g.,
Intercept™ and brush the scan post with a soft bristle brush for
1 minute.
• Rinse with clean, preferably purified, water for min. 2 minutes
• Dry the articles with a clean lint-free cloth
Sterilization procedure
After cleaning, the scan posts must be autoclaved prior to use.
• Clean Scan Posts are sealed in appropriate pouches.
Refer to your autoclave’s instructions for use on which pouches
to use.
• Pouches are placed in sterilizer.
• Autoclaving Cycles is completed, recommended cycles in table
below.
